Monday, February 12, 2018, Winter Springs Commission Meeting began, minus Commissioner Pam Carroll. This was so unlike Pam not to show up for a Commission meeting, or not call to let anyone know she was running late.
Sadly, after much concern, the police were dispatched to her home and found her on the floor where she had passed away.
Pam was very beloved by the community, her passing started this chain of events...RIP PAM...We still miss you.
It was now time to being the task for the Commission to appoint someone to fill the District 3 seat. Residents who were interested informed the Commission of their interest in the appointment. Two names came to the forefront for the Commission to consider. Dr. Ted Johnson who was involved in the Tuscawilla community for many years, personal friends with Pam Carroll, as well as a teacher/administrator at the local middle school. Then there was Ken Greenberg, a local developer transplant from South Florida, who was serving on the Tuscawilla Lighting & Beautification District Advisory Committee. (applications of all applicants are provided)
Many residents spoke out for their choices (8 spoke in favor of Ted Johnson, which included Kevin McCann and TiAnna Hale. While only 2 spoke in favor of Ken Greenberg. It was also pointed out that Greenberg's whole family was in attendance including folks from So. Florida. He was "prepared" like he was informed that he was to be the chosen one)
After Greenberg took his seat on the Dias, the Commission continued down the agenda. In a discussion about storage units, Ken Greenberg proudly announced that "I AM A DEVELOPER".
